Written by Dave Gertner on the behalf of Albis Mora Salas
He walks through the rain forest and you can follow his eyes and pointing finger, and there on a branch is a tree frog, a fallen limb has a story he will explain to you, the sound of a certain bird or monkey he will bring to your vision. He enlightens and finds beauty where you cannot see without his help. He is the President of GAIAculture for these reasons and more.
I will explain Albis’ story more when we can sit together in quiet thought some more. For today this is what his story will be.
I first met Albis six years ago. I met a man who was frustrated by lack of understanding of the natural world and lack of action by those around him. He’s right in these sentiments. WE should be doing great things for our planet that supports all of our actions.
We should be able to live as he does, as caring people seeing the grand design.
Albis has a 250-acre reserve of primary rain forest brimming with endangered and yet discovered species of plants, insects, and animals. He quietly cares for all of these in the name of you and I.
Albis was able to put an endangered ecosystem into protection by sure will and effort for all of us. The pictures you see on our website are mostly his. The spiders, the monkeys, and the animals you see, as photographic images are from his eye, one camera, and an amazing will power to let these things live free and in peace.
Besides being the president of GAIAculture and running our reforestation project, Albis is president of the “Developmental council for Bajo los Indios”, an advisor to the “Developmental council for Agua Buena”. He assists studies of endangered bats, is a trained member of the Costa Rican mountain rescue unit, and fixes fire engines in his spare time.
He is a man of admirable spirit, vision, intuition, and intelligence.
Much more later…
